Kitchen REVEAL!

Image
VOILA!!!!! Here it is! The big reveal! It took 2 LONG months to get to the "end".  We still have a couple of things to go, but I'm calling it done for now.  This is an actual before picture. Notice the Stuff on the top of the cabinets.  They were always greasy and just gross.  Plus they made it look cluttered. All the way to the ceiling! BEAUTIFUL! Notice the tiny magical fan is gone and replaced with an Allen and Roth flush mount light.  It gives off the light we need and makes our cabinets look even bigger! We do miss the fan, but it will probably get moved to over our table. IKEA Bodbyn in Gray All of the doors and drawers have soft close hinges installed.  YAY silence! We have the same appliances.  They are white and work fine.  No need to replace. I did get a new menu board! We used the same over the stove fan.  Scott cut the front off, and moved the buttons from the front to  underneath and then covered it with a cover panel a

Kitchen Remodel timeline

It all started in Spring of 2014. We have never really liked our kitchen.  The cabinets were small and I HATED the extra room on top.  Stuff just got stored up there and would get greasy!! I decided I wanted to do a kitchen remodel.                                                              HAHA.  In my dreams.  We took a                                                       trip up to IKEA and noticed how                                                           cheap they really were! And that's                                                       what started the planning.  We used the IKEA kitchen planner online so when we went we already knew what we needed! Originally we wanted white cabinets because we thought our kitchen was too small for darker. AKA the gray that I LOVED! *Our original cabinets were particle board, counter tops laminate, floor vinyl*                                After we got our tax return, that is when we planned out visit to IKEA.  We

Thalman Update

Oh my it has been awhile! I didn't think having 2 kids was changing much but little things like keeping up the blog have been put on the back burner and forgotten about. Here is a little update Eli is now 7 months.  He is sitting up, can get down to his belly and back up to sitting again.  He is army crawling everywhere and is starting to pull himself up.  He is starting to be a Mama's boy and starts crying and reaches for me when others are holding him.  He is also having a rough time with growing teeth! He just cries and cries, gets really snotty, and sleeps terribly! This mama is exhausted!   He is starting to eat solid food.  We started with rice cereal and he loved it and then moved to baby food.  He hasn't been so enthusiastic about that.  He has gone up and down with wanting to eat food and then not wanting to at all.  He lost a couple of ounces from his 4 month app. to his 6 month app.  The doctor isn't super worried but we have to come back in for a we
